Longgong Port, located in Jining, is a first-class inland container port in China, known for being “smart and environmentally friendly.” It is the first port in China to regularly operate unmanned intelligent transport, handling over 20 million tons of cargo annually. To address drainage issues during the rainy season, Kaiquan implemented an innovative scheme by constructing a prefabricated 10-meter diameter rainwater pump station.
Main Components
The key component of this project is a 10-meter diameter and 9.05-meter deep glass steel cylinder that houses four high-powered submersible axial flow pumps. This cylinder not only enhances water storage and flow capacity in the port area but also ensures the overall operational stability of the pump station. The station is designed to handle the largest rainfall in 50 years, providing robust assurance for safe port operations.
During the initial design phase, Kaiquan’s technical team conducted several field investigations and optimization schemes. They utilized CFD hydraulic model analysis and CAE cylinder strength calculations to design the optimal pump positions and guide plates. This helped solve issues related to uneven water flow and vortexes within the pump station, ensuring operational stability. Additionally, foundation and lifting requirements during construction were strictly checked to ensure project safety and sustainability.
The advantages of Kaiquan’s Prefabricated Pump Station compared to traditional concrete pump stations are evident:
